Warm Weather Car Camping
(updated 11/5/2003)

Warm Weather Car Camping is the easiest style of camping that our troop does.  Our Typical outing starts Friday Evening at 6:00 at a designated meeting place.  We travel to our campsite in automobiles and tow the troop trailer with troop equipment.  The equipment includes a canopy, patrol kitchen boxes, propane, lanterns, Dutch ovens for cooking, Rope, Troop medical kit, fire extinguishers, Axe box, dish washing basins, cleaning supplies.  When we arrive at camp the Senior Patrol Leader surveys the site and determines where the campfire, troop canopy, and individual patrol areas are to be set up.  The troop sets up common troop equipment, then personal equipment.  Saturday activities are determined by the theme of the camp.  Sunday morning we have breakfast, conclude any additional activities, cleanup, break camp and return between 10:30 and noon.  Occasionally we choose (in advance) to return later in the day.

The Menu and Food is either determined by patrol and purchased by a member of that patrol, or is determined for the entire troop and purchased by a member of the troop.  Either way the individual scout does not need to pack food, unless there is an underlying medical reason which should be disclosed to the Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster in charge of the campout.
