Lay a loop of cord over your left hand, bring the back
length (arrowed) under your hand and over the piece on the front. This
takes you to the next diagram. |
Again bring the back piece around the front but this
time take it under the front cord. |
You should now have this. |
Tuck the end you have been working with in as shown. |
Nearly there |
Rotate your hand clockwise - so you can see the back of
it. Take the left hand loop - arrwed and cross it over the right hand.
See next picture. |
Take the working end (the bit you last tucked in the
knot) and tuck it into the hole just created by crossing the two loops |
If you now revolve the knot on your hand a bit you will
see you have arrived back at the beginning - the other end of the cord
is coming out where you would think you would go in. |
Tuck your working end down alongside the other endto
create two parallel strands. |
Another view of the same thing. Continue following the
lay of the knot with your working end, if you run out of working end
start tucking the other end back into the knot. continue until the turks
head appears to be made of two strands |
The finished knot. |
Cut the ends short so they are within the turks head.
Depending on the material you could secure these cut ends with a small
drop of glue or better still a stitch. |
