Patrol Leader Induction Ceremony - Troop 732 (implemented 2003)
  1. The troop forms a half circle facing inwards forming a presentation point.
  2. The Troop Flag is moved to the presentation point.
  3. The Scoutmaster speaks a few words about the importance of the Patrol system and the leaders position. 
  4. The SPL places his left hand on the pole of the Troop Flag
  5. The SPL announces the election and approval of the new Patrol Leaders.
  6. The new Patrol Leaders come forward.  They place their left hand on the pole of the troop flag, above that of the SPL.
  7. Each Patrol Leader announces his appointment of Assistant Patrol Leader. 
  8. The Assistant Patrol Leaders come forward placing their left hands above the Patrol Leaders hands.
  9. The SPL calls the new Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders to Salute
  10. The SPL  leads them in repeating the scout officers promise.

    "I promise to do my best,
           (I promise to do my best)

    To be worthy of my office of Patrol Leader,
           (    To be worthy of my office of Patrol Leader, )

    For the sake of my fellow Scouts, my troop, and the brotherhood of Scouting"
           (    For the sake of my fellow Scouts, my troop, and the brotherhood of Scouting")

     

  11. The SPL releases the salute (Two)
  12. The scoutmaster pins the PL badge on the scouts left sleeve.
  13. The troop gives a cheer for the new Patrol Leader.
